Greaton partner with SAHMRI to support Cancer and Heart research

Greaton, one of Australia's newest and fastest growing diversified property businesses, has joined forces with the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI) to become a valued Diamond Corporate Champion of the Institute.

Supporting the Australian community

A company committed to connecting with local communities where they build, Greaton is proud to be recognised as a Diamond Corporate Champion. This 2-year partnership will provide a donation of $100,000 to both Cancer and Heart research.

The partnership will enable researchers to undertake projects and follow pathways of enquiry in the hope to find a cure for patients living with chronic disease.

Heart disease is currently the leading cause of death in Australians, killing one Australian every 12 minutes. These statistics are exactly why Heart Health has been identified as one of SAHMRI’s research themes, and why Greaton is passionate about improving health outcomes in this area.

Similarly, 130,000 Australians will be diagnosed with cancer this year, and a staggering 45,000 will die from this insidious disease. Finding new and better ways to diagnose and treat cancer is paramount – but this cannot happen without the support of organisations, such as Greaton.

Managing Director of Greaton, Nicho Teng, commented, “Greaton is a community minded developer that seeks ways to connect with local organisations where we develop. We’re proud to show our support for SAHMRI’s world-class, life-saving research in the two critical areas of cancer and heart health. We encourage more corporate organisations to support medical institutions like SAHMRI.”

A ‘great’ partnership

SAHMRI’s Executive Director, Professor Steve Wesselingh, said that SAHMRI is thrilled to be working with Greaton.

“Greaton truly believe in our vision of conducting inspired research that will lead to improved health outcomes for the community,” Professor Wesselingh said.

“We are incredibly grateful to Nicho and his team for their support, and we look forward to a fantastic relationship.”
