KEY STATISTICS
- In 2018, 12.0% of people aged 15 years and over and 10.1% of young people aged 15-29 years smoked.
- The majority of South Australian smokers have tried to quit previously (79.4%); 42.2% have tried to quit in the past year and 59.5% intend to try to quit in the next six months.
- Smoking rates among school children at are an all-time low with 2.5% of secondary students aged 12-17 years smoking in the past week.
