Depression: from mind to brain to DNA - public lecture

Depression represents the highest non-fatal disease burden in Australia, and is the leading cause of disability. It’s a major cause of suicide, which is the third highest fatal disease burden in Australian men. It’s anticipated that by 2020 depression will be the second leading contributor to the global burden of disease.

Join our panel of experts as they discuss depression and how new research could potentially help you and the ones you love.

Topics covered include:

  • 'Depression is more than just feeling low', Professor Bernhard Baune, Head of Psychiatry, University of Adelaide
  • 'Behavioural Activation for Depression', Professor Malcolm Battersby, Head of Psychiatry, Flinders University
  • 'Precision Medicine - Treating Depression', Professor Julio Licinio, SAHMRI Mind and Brain Theme Leader
